05 Jan Shades of Green for 2017
Happy 2017! We hope your holiday season was wonderful and your year is off to a great start! As we’re getting back to normal around here, we’ve been browsing for inspiration for the new year. We’re seeing a lot green being used in interiors and we’re loving it, and it makes sense as to why Pantone announced their Color of the Year for 2017 as Greenery.
Pantone describes this color as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when natureβs greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate”.
While we love the symbolism of this color selection, we understand that not everyone will be eager to incorporate this bold hue into their home. Don’t give up on green in general, though! There are so many wonderful shades of this hue that can be used in place of the Color of the Year. Take a look below a some Green-spiration to use in your home this year!
On walls: It’s amazing the way a bold paint choice can totally change the mood in a room. For example, deeper jewel tones make for a much calmer end result than the more energetic room painted in Greenery (as seen above).
Upholstery: If bold walls aren’t up your alley, an upholstered sofa, chair or settee is a great alternative to adding green in your home! Throws and accent pillows work well, too.
In the kitchen: We love incorporating colors in the kitchen, and these touches of green in the rooms below are beautiful
Furniture: Adding a bold accent piece of furniture can create a welcomed focal point in your room.
